Many of us have things we really want to fix and change about ourselves.
We have areas of our lives where we’re experiencing a lot of pain - in our relationships, in our careers, in our bodies, in our finances - and it really appears to us that the ROOT of our issues is the fact that WE are doing something wrong or that we have some fundamental flaw that’s making it impossible for us to ‘do the right things.’
Many of us feel like when we look out at others around us, it appears as though everyone else is managing just fine - and we seem to have some sort of missing capacity that’s making it so that we aren’t able to achieve what others can.
Then we look out into the self help/spirituality/personal growth world and are bombarded with even MORE messages that reinforce our inherent lack and flawed nature.
From this place, we then get ‘inspired’ to do whatever we can to try to fix ourselves.
We work diligently on changing our mindsets, our habits, our choices. We try to fight with all the bad parts of ourselves that seem hell bent on ruining our lives and making everything difficult.
But no matter how hard we try, and no matter how much progress we seem to be able to make for periods of time - it feels like we always fall back into old routines.
Today I want to talk about why starting from this fundamental assumption that we’re broken, that we’re struggling because of an inherent flaw and that we can’t make progress because we suck on some level is the very reason WHY we’re not making long term, lasting changes.
I want to explore why learning to see yourself as GOOD, as capable, as doing your best with what you have is actually the BEST way to make the long term changes you want to make, and how you can make this shift for yourself.
Working from the idea that you’re broken is the BEST way to stay stuck forever. Let’s talk about why and what you can do instead today.
