When we are working through tough things, when we are dealing with our pasts of trauma and harm, when we are looking to support ourselves in moving forward in life - should we be allowing ourselves to really BE in our feelings, to process our pain, to express the anger, sadness, grief, fear and regret?
Or.
Should we be focusing on the positive? Looking for our power? Figuring out what our next steps should be?
Should we be validating our pain or looking for what’s working?
Are we at risk of missing out on our lives by focusing on our negative feelings? Are we going to get stuck in that and thus end up just wallowing?
Or if we focus on the positive, are we then spiritually bypassing? Are we rushing to try to ‘feel better’ before we’re ready?
Is there any NEED to feel those terrible feelings?
Is there a NEED to look for the positive?
How do we know which one we should be doing and which one is helpful?
THIS is what we’re going to look at and unpack today.
The reality is - both of these things are needed in healing.
But we must do them in proper order, in their proper time.
So let’s figure out what that looks like together today.
