Figuring out how to make ourselves feel safe isn’t as easy as it may sound.
Many out there in the spirituality, self help and personal growth spaces tell us that the ‘real secret’ to living a good life is learning how to ‘regulate our nervous systems’ so that we can come into a state of rest and digest and out of that state of stress and fighting.
They tell us that when we do this, we are going to be able to figure out what we want and need, and we’re going to feel better in life in general.
And the truth is - they aren’t wrong! Learning to find safety, to regulate, to slow down and FEEL the reality that we are ok in this moment is incredibly important when it comes to living a good life, and when it comes to being able to find our power and autonomy.
But the process of actually GETTING INTO THIS STATE is often more complex and convoluted than we may know.
Today I want to share with you the steps that I have seen work the BEST when it comes to finding our way to safety - in a world that is constantly triggering us, and making us feel unsafe and insecure.
Because just ‘regulate your nervous system’ or ‘make yourself safe’ isn’t really enough to help us GET THERE.
Let’s see if we can connect to an actual PROCESS for this, and see if practicing this process over time can help you actually FEEL that safety that will help you move forward in your life from your adult perspective and power.
