So in keeping with our new theme of letting you into our lives, I want to tell you a little more about our last 12 months, and how it all unfolded. Here is a quick breakdown for you (because everyone loves Coles notes) This is essential how I learned how to create my own reality. I am going to start at the VERY beginning, just for clarity.
Spring 2012 - I stood in a yoga studio (where i was working a part time job even though I was already trained as a Holistic Nutritionist, Life Coach, Yoga Instructor and was training in Reiki) with my dear friend, and she asked me what I wanted. I told her I wanted to travel with my work. I wanted to see the world without taking time off of my career, but instead I wanted to be serving my purpose while I traveled the globe. I wanted to be helping people heal through a medium where I did not have to 'go' to work anymore. I had NO idea how this would look or how it would work. All I knew was that I wanted the feeling of freedom, abundance and most importantly purpose.
Summer 2012 - Got myself an online job as a Holistic Nutritionist/Life Coach.
January 2013 - Went to Thailand for the first time. Fell totally and completely in love. I knew I wanted to move there.
Winer/Spring 2013 - I fully opened myself to moving to Thailand. We figured out what we needed to do for Visas, booked places to stay, started getting rid of our things. We were also trying to work out Marcus keeping his job.
August 2013 - We moved out of our Vancouver Apartment, getting rid of almost all of our things. Marcus and I had 4 backpacks between us to our names. Marcus was told he was not going to be able to take his job 2 days before we left.
August 2013 - We flew to Bangkok. We stayed in Bangkok for 2 weeks.
September 2013 - We moved to Koh Phangan Island. We wrote The Perception Diet.
October 2013 - We self published The Perception Diet.
November 2013 - We moved to Chiang Mai. Marcus had 1 million job interviews, narrowing down what he wanted to be doing and where you wanted to be doing it. I was finding that I was craving more meditation. I was also focusing in on what we wanted to create for Marcus and his career.
December 2013 - Marcus got a new job in Montreal. It was exactly what we needed. We decided that we wanted to move to California, but we knew that he needed just a few more months of experience before he would be able to do that. The Montreal job was totally ideal.
December 2013 - March 2014 - We lived in Montreal. We got engaged. I meditated 1 hour a day. I started to learn that much of manifesting was sitting in the FEELING state of what you desire. I also started reading The Course In Miracles. I was asking more and more what my purpose was, and found that many of my buried 'issues' were coming up. As they did I fully processed them instead of stuffing them back down as I usually did.
March 2014 - April 2014 - I ran The Perception Diet Telecourse and it was amazing. I got a new job and connected with Whitney, who is fully one of my Sprit family members. I was heavily manifesting moving to the United States at this point - envisioning sitting on the beach, having more abundance (I visualized an exact income for Marcus.)
First week of May 2014 - Monday - Marcus is let go at his Montreal job due to downsizing.
Tuesday - Marcus re-does his resume.
Wednesday - Marcus connects with Recruiters in California and New York.
Thursday - Marcus has interviews with both recruiting companies.
Friday - Marcus has first interview with a company in San Francisco. The recruiter calls 20 minutes after the interview to let us know that they are really excited about him and they schedule a follow up interview for Monday.
Saturday - We book our tickets to fly to Calgary to see family, and decide to give up our apartment.
Monday - Marcus has follow up interview with company in San Francisco and they love him. He discovers that what he had been doing in Montreal is exactly what the San Francisco Company needs. Later that afternoon the recruiter calls to let us know that they are working on an offer letter for Marcus. Tuesday - Marcus is hired and we learn that we are moving to San Francisco and that Marcus will be getting the EXACT salary I was asking for. Thursday - We moved out of our apartment and few to Calgary.
May 2014: We spent 2 days in Calgary with family, then flew to Vancouver to visit my dear sister. Two days later we headed to the airport. Marcus got through and got his TN status no problem. I on the other hand, did not have the easiest time. Basically I was under the impression that I could go into the US as a Canadian Citizen for 6 months with no Visa. However, because they could see that I was trying to come here with Marcus, they said no! They told me to come back with proof of relation.
Now, this could have been devastating. However, it wasn't! I knew that I needed to be with my sister, and I knew that I had some things to do in Vancouver. I ended up being able to support my sister through a huge transition in her life. Marcus was able to move to San Francisco and get us all set up without me having to do any work! He found us a place, got a bike, learned the lay of the city, and we got to re-remember how much we love one another. I also discovered that I am fully capable of being whole, happy and holy without him, which means that we CHOOSE to be together, instead of feeling that we NEED one another.
I then got to go with my dear friend/sister Whitney and co-host a retreat in Penticton. I got to teach yoga, share nutrition wisdom, body connection wisdom and overall serve the beautiful women who showed up. It was amazing.
The day after the retreat I was set to go to the airport. I asked that my customs man would be really nice to me, barely ask me any questions, let me through with no problems and that I would get a row all to myself on the plane. Basically, that is exactly what happened!
My cab driver that took me to the air port gave me all of this life and relationship advice, then my boarder crossing guy was so nice to me, barely asked me anything and gave me a stamp for 3 years to be in the US. Then he joked with me and let me through. Then to top it all off, as I was checking in I felt like I should change my seat on the plane. I did it, and wound up having a whole isle to myself. Life.is.Magical.
So there you have it. Dream big and your life will take you in all sorts of crazy directions! I cannot wait to share more of my adventures with you 🙂
