In the last several years, awareness of trauma, adverse experiences, neuro-diversity and how these things affect our capacity to be well has sky-rocketed.
Therapy has become popular, and ‘therapy speak’ even more so.
Many of us who have been in the health/wellness/spirituality worlds for a while have come to a place of identifying with a lot of the wisdom being shared in these new mental health circles and many of us have taken on a lot of the modalities suggested in order to try to heal ourselves and find more balance in our lives.
This is a GREAT thing and in real reality, therapy really SHOULD be more accessible and the increased awareness of how our minds and bodies work has likely benefited a lot of us in immeasurable ways.
That being said, the reality is that many of us have come to a place of deeply understanding how our past adverse experiences have affected us, understanding all the psychological tools we should be using to change and heal and we have diligently been practicing these tools - but despite our best efforts, we still feel stuck in our pain.
We still feel activated, triggered and unsafe. We still have the same patterns in our relationships. We still fall into the same self destructive loops and coping mechanisms.
We’re seemingly doing the work - but we aren’t seeing the actual benefits of that work in tangible reality.
So what’s going on here?
That’s what we’re going to explore today.
If you’re doing all the therapy and finding that it isn’t moving the needle on how you FEEL and EXPERIENCE the world - this video is for you.
