Just Because You SEE Others Needs, Doesn’t Make You RESPONSIBLE

Have you ever experienced being able to predict someone's expectations before they voiced them, and felt like it was your job to get out ahead and meet those expectations?

Have you ever felt like you were aware that someone around you was wanting something - and even though they didn’t ask you for it explicitly, you felt like it was your responsibility to meet their need?

Have you ever felt like you could tell that someone was GOING to want or need something that you didn’t feel comfortable giving them - and like it was your responsibility to make sure you managed that expectation even without them saying or doing anything?

Have you ever felt like you are to blame if someone in your life doesn’t get their needs or expectations met (especially if their need or expectation involved you in some way) even if they never communicated to you what they were wanting or needing?

Have you ever felt like you know what others are wanting, needing and feeling before THEY know - and that it’s then your job to manage those feelings and needs?

Have you ever been called an ‘empath’ and felt like you literally DO know people almost better than they know themselves, and in this have felt like it’s your JOB to please others or to save them from themselves and their pain?

If so, today’s video is for you.

Today we are going to explore all the ways that empathy can move us into a state of codependency where we’re taking on way too much responsibility for others, why this happens and how we can start to set healthier boundaries so that we DON’T live our lives feeling responsible for things that are truly not our job.
