I talk a LOT in my work about how we need to let go of the idea of the 'before and after'.
That we need to release ourselves from the belief that there is going to be a time when we've done enough healing/integration work, where we've figured ourselves out enough, where we've found the perfect lifestyle/partner/job/location - and in this we go from suffering to bliss.
That we need to surrender the idea that one day we won't have to process emotions anymore, we won't have any more trauma, we won't have any more challenges or confusion or mountains to climb because we 'figured it out' or 'did our work'.
I say this because in reality, life is ALWAYS going to be a journey. There will ALWAYS be something new to process, to see, to work through. Always a new challenge. Always a new growth opportunity.
At the same time, it is 100% possible - and even PROBABLE - that on this self love path we change our lives so radically, that it almost looks like there was a 'before and after.' That when we look back on where we were 5, 10, 15 years ago compared to now - it feels like there was a transformative moment or two that set our lives on a totally different trajectory, that led to us creating a whole different life for ourselves.
Today I want to talk about the DIFFERENCE between expecting a HEAVEN and expecting radical transformation. I want to talk about why this path of self love will most likely lead to a whole new way of life that's unrecognizable from your past - while at the same time never being 'complete' or a place we 'rest' as an 'after'.
Transformation - yes. Completion - no.
Let's dive into the nuance here, so we can be better prepared for what this path really is.
