Our Culture Hurts – You’re Not Just Failing To Thrive

The reality is that our culture is not set up for us to thrive.

Our culture is not designed for us to be healthy mentally, emotionally or physically.

Our culture is not set up in a way that supports us having strong community connections, a deep sense of belonging or a sense of being safe.

Our culture isn’t set up in a way that fosters us living with a sense that our life matters and that we have purpose in what we’re doing all day.

Our society is not set up for us to feel like we’re worthy of love, like we are fundamentally good or like we should feel anything but self loathing and shame.

Our society isn’t supporting us in being genuinely empathetic people who have a healthy connection to our emotions and who can make good choices from and empowered place.

In fact, the reality is just the opposite.

Our culture is working in a way right now that makes it almost impossible for MOST of us to feel good.

This doesn’t mean that we have no power.

This doesn’t mean we’re trapped and can’t improve things.

But it DOES mean that we’re need to take a step back and really look at the water we’re swimming in, why blaming ourselves for not feeling good isn’t going to help us in the long run, and why learning to support ourselves in what we ACTUALLY need vs. chasing what culture tells us to chase is going to be the remedy for the pain we’re feeling.

You’re not broken if you aren’t feeling good in our culture - you’re RESPONDING just how you should be.

Let’s explore this together today, and talk about what we can do to make it better for ourselves.
