Here's the deal - ANY time you are interacting with ANY social media content where someone is showing you their life - I want you to remember that what you are seeing is a curated image.
The perfect smoothie bowls, the idyllic journalling sessions, the sloppy kisses, the vulnerable crying on the floor shots, the 'messy' shares - ALL of it is someone showing you not only WHAT they want you to see, but also showing you HOW they want you to see.
A lot of the time what we see on social media isn't the full story, nor is it the complete TRUTH about the full story - because there's no way to fully and effectively communicate a full experience through a camera.
The biggest reason we want to understand this, is because when we compare our REAL lives to what we are seeing on social media, we are almost ALWAYS going to feel like we're failing, like we're doing something wrong, like our lives aren't as perfect as they should be or as other people's are - and this is either going to drive us deeper into feeling shame and guilt OR it's going to make us vulnerable to buying courses and products we don't actually need, that won't actually improve our lives but that we buy because we think we 'need' them to become something that we can, in fact, never become.
The shares of people and their lives on social media are ALMOST always intended to make you FEEL something about yourself that will make you BUY something.
Which sucks because in a world where we are starved for connection, for a lot of us social media is one of the ONLY places we actually FEEL that connection we are looking for - and when it's then used to manipulate us there's a double layer of pain and confusion that can come in.
Learning to see that what is presented to us on social media isn't actually as vulnerable and real as we want it to be is a BIG thing, and it can help us AVOID a lot of pain - but it's also hard to see and that's why I wanted to talk about it today.
Let's explore together why understanding the 'fake' of social media is so important and how we can take the good and forget the rest when it comes to consuming social media content.

Loving this content?
Wanting something a little more structured and organized?
Wanting to take your self love path to the next level but not sure how to do that?
Are you feeling like there’s more to you but you’re not exactly sure what that ‘more’ is or how to access it?
Are you sick and tired of ‘self help’ but know that you need some form of support to really find a life that works for you?
Then the Aliyah Mystery School may be something that can help 🙂
There are already 3 full programs in the school designed to help you radically connect with your body, your emotions, your spirituality and your intellect so that you can begin creating a life that works for you - instead of trying to shove yourself into the boxes society has created for you.
This month I’m launching a fourth course - and this course is the most radical yet. This course will teach you not only how to connect with yourself, but how to connect with that greater sense of unconditional love, so that you can take your journey of self expression to the next level.
There’s never been anything wrong with you - this course is about showing you how deeply perfect you are, and it’s about giving you the tools you need to build a life around your essence, so that you can stop trying to fit to a world that doesn’t make room for you.
