You've probably heard it a million times.
The idea that if you're REALLY living your true purpose, if you're really walking your souls path, if you're actually stepping into your greatness and doing what you came here to do - that you will have a vocation that's your passion that's leading to you having massive financial success.
You've been told over and over again that if you're not aligning your career with what lights you up then you're not really living your fullest potential.
You've been told that if you're not feeling fulfilled in life, if you're not feeling satisfied, if you're coping, numbing and self sabotaging - that this is all due to you not stepping up and becoming the person you were meant to be - someone whose career is changing the world and making money at the same time.
We're told that we can ALL find our purpose in our current market place, and that if we're REALLY on it, that our purpose will translate into financial success.
Success is framed as having a good career and making lots of money. Having a HUGE impact. Getting yourself out there, leading, making your own thing and own way, working hard and living large.
Today I want to talk about why almost ALL of the above are capitalist lies.
I want to explore the REALITY that *most* of us aren't going to have a singular purpose that is monetizable. I'm going to talk about how purpose isn't a thing that can be monetized. I'm going to talk about the truth of what creates a satisfying life and why focusing SO much on our work (or our bodies, our relationships or any ONE area of our lives) to try to find that purpose and fulfillment will always lead to dissatisfaction, and why the commoditization of everything is making us blind to our own suffering as well as the suffering of others.
Let's explore together how this capitalism system require that we deny our humanity, and then tricking us into returning to the system over and over again to find that humanity.
Not everyone has a purpose that can be monetized, and even if you do, it won't satisfy you.
