One of the most common ‘mistakes’ I see people making in their lives when they are wanting to heal/grow/transform is taking on WAY too many healing modalities and practices all at once.
For many who are in pain, there is this sense that the MORE we do to heal, the MORE tools we use, the MORE we study and take in information and the more we research and inform ourselves, the faster we will heal.
Many of us truly believe that in order to make profound shifts in our lives we must be CONSTANTLY working on ourselves, looking for that ‘next’ step, working that ‘next’ tool - and that there have to be fireworks and obvious changes happening pretty much 24/7.
Many of us believe that if we were to pick just one or two things to focus on in our healing or growth, or if we were to allow ourselves TIME to really practice the tools we already have and to implement the knowledge we already know that we will then be ‘missing something’ and in that we will get stuck and never reach our healed potential.
This couldn’t be farther from the truth.
In real reality, what most of us who are looking to heal or grow - whether that be healing our mental/emotional selves, healing our bodies, healing our relationships or growing into the person we want to become - actually need is to SLOW DOWN, simplify and practice what we already know for longer.
What most of us need is repetition, not more tools, more information and more steps.
This can be hard to accept and even harder to actually practice - which is why I want to explore it today.
