
Here's the deal - the self love path is NOT about resigning ourselves to accepting where we are and never wanting to change/grow/shift ever again.
The self love path is also not about working as hard as possible to change, grow and shift so that we can finally get to a place where we feel worthy, lovable and good enough.
Rather, this path is about slowing down and learning to truly understand who we are, what we want, what matters to us, what we value and what we're capable of in real reality - and then organizing our lives around that.
The problem is, most of us have a REALLY hard time connecting to the information above. Most of us have a hard time really knowing what we value, what we want, what matters ot us and what our potential is because we are SO deeply trained in our world to look outside of ourselves for the 'rule's' and to then follow those rules in the hopes that we will one day become worthy of love and safety.
The truth is, for most of us, before we're going to be able to figure out what we want to grow in ourselves, we are first going to have to learn to love who and what we are - just as we are - right here, right now.
We are going to have to stop trying to fix/change/heal/grow so that we can genuinely LEARN about who we are.
Most of us, for a period of time, ARE going to have to stop our quest to change, so that we can work on the self compassion peice FIRST.
Because when we DON'T do this, we are going to find that we stay stuck on the self improvement train, never really getting to know ourselvse and never really finding a life that matters to us.
Self love often requires that we move in phases - and this is one of the things people tend to struggle with the most - they want to figure out who they are and how to become that - but they are putting the cart before the horse doing all the external change things BEFORE they have true self awareness.
This path asks us to slow down and find compassion first - and that's for a very important reason.
Change without compassion will always end up as self improvement. Change FROM a place of deep self compassion will align with values and truth.
