Hi Friends 🙂
Last week we talked all about why Gurus are awesome. We talked about why allowing Gurus to inspire you to walk your path with more confidence and more gusto is exactly what makes a Guru so special and important for humanity.
Today, lets explore why a FALLEN Guru may be even MORE of a potent teacher than those who stick to the path, and how to be someone who can glean the gifts of a fallen Guru for yourself.
Why The Fallen Guru Is Amazing
With this, you can start to see how a fallen Guru may actually be even MORE powerful for your growth and advancement than a teacher or Guru who is really sticking to their message.
When we see someone who has been teaching something, or demonstrating an elevated state of being and become inspired by them, only to find out later that they were not being honest about who they were, what they were doing, how they were living, or that they themselves were not actually able to fully live up to their message – it can be super easy to say ‘well if they couldn’t do it, neither can I.”
You let yourself off the hook of moving in the direction you were moving due to their inspiration because they ‘fell off’ the path themselves.
You let yourself off the hook, without realizing the big lesson the fallen Guru has for you:
If it resonated for you – if their teaching/way of being/level of performance inspired you and attracted you – then it is STILL FOR YOU!
It is not about them.
It is not about whether they are living it or not.
Because THEM living in an optimal state, at the end of the day, does nothing for YOU if you are not also practicing! If you are not taking the responsibility and allowing yourself to gently move in the direction they are pointing you in.
So when you find yourself faced with someone who could not live up to their own ideals and teachings, do not cut yourself off from the greatest lesson ever – that YOU have the power to follow through with what resonates and inspires you, even if others are not demonstrating that power.
Rather than allowing a fallen Guru to inspire you to give up on what ignited you, allow it to add fuel to the fire.
Allow it to remind you of your sovereignty.
Allow it to strengthen your resolve to reach for your highest and truest potential.
Remember that if it called to you, if it resonated with you, then it IS you.
Then, allow yourself to have grace and compassion for the individual. Allow yourself to remember that we really are all the same. We all have the same capacity for greatness, and we all have the same capacity for learning through contrast. Which is all a fallen Guru is really demonstrating. The learning through the contrast. And this learning through the contrasting experiences are also mighty valuable.
The Guru Serves Many Functions:
1. The Guru points out to you what is in you that wants to be birthed.
2. The fallen Guru provides the opportunity for you to take full and complete responsibility for yourself and your journey, to continue on after what called to you even without the outside motivation and light of a teacher. The fallen Guru gives you the ultimate opportunity to see that YOU are your truest source of light.
3. All humans show us that contrast is a beautiful teacher. That no one is truly above anyone else. That we all have the same potential for greatness and for learning.
So be kind to yourself.
Be kind to the Gurus.
See yourself in all, and the all in yourself.
Be inspired by the light in others, while remembering you are the truest source of your own light this time round.
Remember grace, and know that all are on their perfect journeys.
Love the Gurus, be your own Guru.
