The real truth of reality is this:
If it’s true, it exists.
If it’s true, it’s something we can observe, feel and experience for ourselves.
If it’s true, it will be functional, harmonious and supportive when practiced and applied.
Truth can’t be owned by anyone. It can’t be said to have been invented by anyone.
Because truth IS - and at the end of the day, if someone knows a truth and is able to share that truth with others in some way, it’s simply because they have observed it and conceptualized it well enough to be able to do that sharing.
Which leads us to this understanding - we technically don’t ‘need’ teachers or guides to tell us what the truth is.
Because teachers and guides aren’t the SOURCE of truth. They are not creating it or making it so - they are really just ‘translating’ it for us.
Now, we also want to validate that we don’t all have the time, energy, capacity or interest to discover ‘truth’ in all areas of life - because truth is often deeply complex and figuring out how things work and how that information applies to us - this is a BIG task.
So it’s GREAT that we have all kinds of different subject experts who are able to study deeply in one area of reality and are then able to compress that information in a way that helps us ‘fast track’ into understanding.
But again, teachers are not the SOURCE of truth - they are just the translators of truth.
And this is a really important to ground ourselves into when we are interacting with teachers and guides.
We never want to get into the trap of ‘gurufying’ people, or believing that we NEED others to tell us what the truth is. Nor do we want to get into a situation where we feel like we should NEVER look outside of ourselves for help.
We want to have a balanced perspective of teachers and guides, what they do for us and what it looks like to have a healthy relationship with them.
